1. What are Singfiller® dermal fillers?
Singfiller® dermal fillers are a group of gel substances which are used in facial aesthetics to contour, add volume or plump up areas where wrinkles and folds have appeared due to ageing or scarring. Singfiller® dermal fillers are usually based on Hyaluronic Acid (HA) which naturally occurs in our skin and joints to hydrate and lubricate. Unfortunately we produce less and less of this HA as we age, which leads to dehydration, lack of volume, drooping and deepening of lines and wrinkles. HA binds with water increasing hydration.
2. How do they work?
Administered by one or several injections and with minimal recovery time; The basic idea behind all of these dermal fillers is of course to fill up the flesh beneath the skin and to that way help make it firmer and more taut so that wrinkles and other lines no longer show
3. Who can prescribe and administer Singfiller® dermal fillers?
Currently Singfiller® dermal fillers is classed III Medical Device, be prescribed for health and safety reasons. So they should always be administered by a practitioner with appropriate training, knowledge and experience in Hospital or Clinic.
4. Who can have Singfiller®dermal fillers Injections?
Any adult who is clinically indicated and deemed fit to make an informed decision about the treatment and its associated risk can have them.
5. Who can't have Singfiller®dermal fillers Injections?
Anyone with a previous allergic reaction to Singfiller® dermal fillers or someone with a allergy to Lidocain (often added to fillers for the comfort of client). Pregnant or breast feeding mothers are also contraindicated to treatment.
6. What's involved in the treatment?
You will need a full consultation and if you are suitable for treatment we can proceed. You will be treated in a clinically safe and hygienic environment. You will be asked to sit/lie on a couch and made comfortable. Your skin will be prepared with cleansing and a numbing cream will be applied, when the area is ready the Singfiller® dermal fillers will be administered. You will be given after-care advice and details of what to expect following treatment. Then you can return to your normal activities.
7. What should I do after treatment?
Following your treatment you can expect some local swelling and maybe bruising, a cold compress may help you ease this, and arnica cream may be recommended to encourage the bruise to come out. It is often asked that you avoid any vigorous exercise or sun exposure for 24-48hrs. Some medications may be better avoided to ensure optimum healing too. All this information will be given to you in more detail both verbally and in writing during your treatment.
8. What areas can be treated?
Singfiller® dermal fillers can be used to smooth away facial lines and wrinkles, create fuller lips and shape facial contours, such as cheeks and chin, and revitalise the skin. The most commonly treated areas are: Nose to mouth lines (the nasolabial folds), down-turned lips, between the eyebrows (the glabella lines), Lips (adding volume and shape) and cheeks.
9. How long will the effects last?
Singfiller® dermal fillers are long-lasting but not permanent, they usually last between 6-12 months but this can vary for different individuals.
10. Will it hurt?
Singfiller® dermal fillers can be slightly uncomfortable depending on the depth on injection needed. However during the preparation of your skin an aesthetic cream will be applied to the area to aid your comfort, plus most of the Singfiller® dermal fillers we use have local aesthetic mixed in with them too to further minimize any discomfort.
11. What are the side effects?
Short term side effects can include redness, swelling, pain, itching, bruising or tenderness at the injection site, these can be relieved with a cold compress, and arnica cream if you have no allergies. Lips can be particularly sensitive and swelling may last for a few days. There is no evidence to date of any long-term safety concerns associated with the treatment, as the body naturally metabolises the product over time.
12. What are the risks?
If you have a history of cold sores, the likelihood of an outbreak is high. An anti-herpes treatment will be advised to hopefully stop this happening. There is always a risk of an allergic reaction, but this is extremely rare. There is also a risk of infection, this is why it is vital to be treated in a clinically safe environment where stringent sterile precautions can be taken and it's absolutely necessary to follow the after-care instructions which will be given to you.
